Monster-Power-Ready Connecting Rods for Ford’s Godzilla 7.3L Platform

Ford Godzilla 7.3L V8 K1 Connecting Rods

K1 Technologies has expanded their lineup of connecting rods with their latest H-beam rod for Ford 7.3L Godzilla engines. Manufactured from 4340 steel and held to precise tolerances, these connecting rods are prepared for monster power in Ford’s latest big displacement V8.

As the first new cam-in-block, pushrod V8 design Ford has released since they switched focus to their modular/Coyote platforms, it got some performance enthusiasts attention. In stock form, its peak power production numbers reach 430HP and 475 ft. lb. of torque. However, because it was designed for Super Duty trucks, it’s proven to be a solid platform to make big power already, with some builders squeezing north of 700HP out of them, naturally aspirated.

The Godzilla engine has several traits that appeal to engine builders looking to make reliable power, including a deep-skirted iron block, 4.22-in. bore size, and four-bolt main caps. However, the OEM powdered-metal, cracked cap connecting rods and cast pistons could you use an upgrade if you’re looking to bump up the horsepower, be it naturally and by strapping on some boost. We’ll leave the piston upgrade to our friends at Wiseco, but we have you covered with a strong, yet affordable, performance connecting rod option.

K1 connecting rods for the Ford Godzilla engine are forged from 4340 steel with an H-Beam design, providing proven strength and reliability through optimized strength-to-weight design and better aligned alloy grain flow.

A double-rib cap design provides additional strength and bearing support in one of the highest stressed areas of the rod, also helping maintain bore roundness and conformity.

A shot-peening surface treatment smooths the alloys surface blends, reducing potential stress risers to improve material durability and service life.

Just like all K1 connecting rods, industry leading ARP 2000 series fasteners are included, standard.
